Hello, everyone! Welcome to my blog, and thanks for stopping by! 😊 I’m J, the main writer here. This blog is my investment journal—a space where I document my journey to financial independence through the stock market, with the goal of retiring myself and my family.

I’m a busy father of two, working an 8-to-5 job that I genuinely enjoy. It’s meaningful work that plays to my strengths. My wife, M, is a stay-at-home mom who looks after our kids and also tutors chemistry online. Together, we cover our daily expenses, but we’re always mindful of life’s uncertainties. What if I lose my job during an economic downturn? What if M’s tutoring dries up? Plus, inflation keeps pushing prices higher—housing costs, especially, have skyrocketed. I can’t even imagine what our kids will face when they’re ready to buy homes. That’s why we’ve set two big financial goals:
- Generate enough passive income to retire by age 50.
- Save enough capital for our kids to buy homes when they turn 21.
To hit these targets, we need extra income. But here’s the catch: we also want to prioritize quality time with our kids. Spending hours on side hustles isn’t an option. We were stumped until Robert Kiyosaki’s Cashflow Quadrant opened our eyes. He breaks income into four types: Employee (E), Self-Employed (S), Business Owner (B), and Investor (I). I’m in the E quadrant with my job; M’s in the S quadrant with tutoring. To move forward, we decided to tap into B and I—and stock market investing turned out to be the perfect fit for our lifestyle.

I’ve been investing for seven years now, and it hasn’t been smooth sailing. I’ve made plenty of mistakes—losing capital, watching profits vanish—while navigating the 2018 US-China trade war, the 2020 COVID crash, and the 2022 inflation-driven bear market. But those experiences taught me valuable lessons. Today, I’ve honed an investment approach with the right mindset that consistently grows my wealth in the stock market.
If you’re like me—busy, but eager to grow your wealth without constantly watching the market—this blog is for you. Whether you’ve got extra cash to invest or just want a hands-off strategy, feel free to follow along as I share my methods. A quick note: if you’re into short-term trading or day trading for a living, this isn’t the place for you.
Thanks for joining me on this journey—see you around, and stay in touch!
